Central Credit Union of Maryland Joins Point Breeze Credit Union: Strategic Merger Expands Services and Access for Members Across Maryland

Hunt Valley, MD (April 1, 2026) — Point Breeze Credit Union is pleased to announce that Central Credit Union of Maryland has officially merged with Point Breeze Credit Union, following a successful member vote and regulatory approvals from the National Credit Union Administration and the Maryland Office of Financial Regulation.

This strategic merger unites two member-focused credit unions that share a commitment to personalized, community-based service. The combined organization will offer expanded products, enhanced digital tools, and greater convenience for members throughout Maryland.

“We’re excited to welcome the members and employees of Central Credit Union of Maryland into the Point Breeze Credit Union family,” said Tonia Niedzialkowski, President and CEO of Point Breeze Credit Union. “This merger is about strengthening the support we provide to our members by giving them greater access to branches, more convenient services, and continued investment in the tools they rely on.  Together, we’re building a stronger credit union that will support members’ needs today and well into the future.”

For now, Central branches will operate as “Central Credit Union, A Division of Point Breeze Credit Union,” and members will continue banking as usual at their current locations and through existing digital and telephone banking services. Later this year, after a planned system integration, all branches will operate under the Point Breeze Credit Union name, and members will gain access to five additional Point Breeze locations in Hunt Valley, Rosedale, Owings Mills, Bel Air, and Westminster—with expanded hours.

Members will also enjoy immediate benefits, including:

  • Access to low-rate first mortgages and home equity loans through Point Breeze Credit Union
  • Surcharge-free access to Point Breeze ATMs in addition to Central and CO-OP® Network ATMs
