About Michael

Name: Michael Fowler
Job: Member Business Lending Officer
Hometown: Baltimore born and raised
Favorite Local Spot: I'm a huge fan of the Food Market in Hampden, and Bluebird Cocktail Room just down the street.

Q: How would you describe your role at Point Breeze Credit Union?

A: As a Member Business Lending Officer, I'm the point person for businesses navigating their financial paths. My role involves understanding what our members aim to achieve and helping them realize their business aspirations. It’s all about fostering strong, trusting relationships.

Q: Can you share a bit about your personal life and hobbies?

A: Outside of work, I'm deeply involved in coaching my two kids in various sports. I particularly love coaching basketball with the younger age groups. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with family and friends.

Q: What brings you joy in your job at Point Breeze?

A: I find immense joy in helping our members turn their business ideas into reality. It’s incredibly satisfying to guide them through the process and see their plans come to fruition. At Point Breeze, our focus isn’t solely on the bottom line; it’s about genuinely supporting our members' dreams.

Q:  Can you speak to the sense of community at Point Breeze?

A: Absolutely. The community aspect is crucial for me. Even when I’m coaching my kids, I’m talking with other parents and looking for ways we can help support our neighbors’ ventures. We get a lot of referrals, people who know someone who knows someone who’s a member and who has had a great experience. Business banking at Point Breeze is not a well-kept secret. That’s the nature of doing good business in a small community like Baltimore — word tends to spread.

Q: How does Point Breeze's approach to business banking stand out?

A: Like I said before, we’re referral-based, and I think that demonstrates how personal our relationships are. We often receive positive feedback for our flexibility and our ability to adapt to meet member needs. It’s not just about transactions for us; it’s about building long-term relationships and being a dependable partner for our members and our community.

Q: What else do people love about working with Point Breeze?

A: I really think it’s the personal touch. We’re available to grab coffee, to chat, to listen, and to provide expertise and guidance, especially during tough times. Supporting businesses through their financial ups and downs is a big part of what we do. Whether it’s managing cash flow or aiding growth, we’re there to help our members navigate through tough times and celebrate their successes. It’s a great feeling, watching a business excel!

Q: What would you like prospective members to know about Point Breeze?

A: I’d love for them to know that they’re not just joining a credit union; they’re becoming part of a community. We’re here to listen, understand, and assist in any way we can. It’s a relationship that goes beyond banking – it’s about being part of something bigger.
